Assistant Manager & Volunteer Coordinator
We’re looking for a friendly, community-minded Assistant Manager & Volunteer Coordinator to help run Minety Community Shop — a much-loved, volunteer-centred village hub supporting local people and suppliers.
Role:
20 hours per week | £12.21/hour + holiday pay | Pension, overtime & business mileage available
You’ll support the Shop Manager with daily operations, customer service, and compliance, and take the lead in coordinating our amazing team of around 20 volunteers.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide a positive shopping experience for our customers
- Welcome, recruit, and support our volunteer team
- Coordinate training and ensure everyone feels supported and competent in health and safety and compliance issues
- Manage the rota and help make volunteering rewarding and fun
- Ensure smooth, efficient shop operations supporting and sometimes deputising for the Shop Manager.
About You:
You’re organised, friendly, and confident using IT. Experience in retail or working with volunteers is helpful, but your enthusiasm for community life is what really counts.
